| 17 Squall Leonheart is more or less a loner. He is around his twenties, and doesn't take anything from anybody.
He carries the Gunblade, and the handle of the weapon
is like a revolver, and has a blade instead of a barrel, hence the name, the Gunblade. The blade of it starts right where the
revolver bullet chamber ends, and tapers down to a sharp point. At the hilt of the blade, there is an insignia of a lion, which I
dont understand. Character designer Tetsuya Nomura wanted the character's name to have the meaning of a passing shower,
which is how he came up with the name Squall. The last name, Leonheart, was the name of one of the main characters from an
earlier 8-bit fantasy which never made it to the U.S. | 5'10'' Gunblade

17 Rinoa is a very kind and loving person. She gives with no thought of
reward, and that is what draws people to her, like Squall. They obviously have
something going, but I'm not gonna say anything just so I don't spoil it for you.
She is in the demo, but in the real game she is replaced with Selphie. Her weapon is
like a crossbow boomerang, called the Blaster Edge. I think that she is one of the
more powerful magic users, since she was stocked with magic in the demo, and she was
able to call Leviathan too. I don't know, but I think that she knew Laguna when she was
a child, but maybe the picture I was just a little girl that looked like Rinoa. | 5'4'' Blaster Edge

27 Laguna Loire is a lot like Rinoa, and the exact opposite of Squall. He is about 27, and is an optimist, and a man of heart.
He loves and respects his duties, as well as the duties of others. Laguna was not in the demo, because I heard from someone
that you meet him later in the game, or rather he meets you. You play through some of the game as Squall, and then you start
playing as Laguna on a different world, or a different part of the planet. Laguna's name came from Laguna Beach, California, as
well as the powerful sword Ragnarok which when broken down phonetically in Japanise sounds like "la-gu-na-ro-k". He is a reporter,
and I think he works for the Galbadia Army, the enemy of Garden and SeeD. | 5'11'' A Gun?

17 Zell is a freind of Squall's, and he is a member of the SeeD team with Squall, Rinoa, Selphie and Quistis. He is a very
tempermental person, and tends to have mood swings. He does not use a weapon, but from looking at his intro, it seems to me that he
is a martial arts master, and he uses that in battle. He has a tatoo on his face, not a scar. This tatoo has some kind of symbolisim
in his family lineage, but I couldn't tell you what it means. I have no idea where his name came from, but I'm guessing it's German. | 5'6'' Martial Arts

18 Seifer is the leader of Squall's SeeD team. He has close ties to Edea the witch, and his intents in life dont seem to be
all that pure either. He wears a white cape with an insignia on the right shoulder of a red cross. He calls his gunblade the cross sword.
He has some kind of personal problem with Squall, I dont know why, but if I did, I wouldnt tell you because it would be a major spoiler.
Squall and Seifer fought sometime early in the game, and they exchanged scars during a battle, and Seifer cheated in this battle too.
He seems to be a good guy, but with his close ties to Edea, I just can't shake the feeling that he is evil at heart. | 6'1'' Gunblade

17 Selphie is a very cheery and outgoing person, and you meet her very early in the game. She helps you in the raid on Dollet
Dukedom, and take Rinoa's place in the demo. She is in a band, apparently not a very good one, look at the hair! I have not seen any screens
of her in battle, so I couldnt tell you it she really does use nunchaku. You could say that Selphie is there to make the rest of the characters

17 It is said that Irvine is not a student of the Garden, but evidently, he has
something to do with the Garden. He dresses like a cowboy and uses a
shotgun as his weapon. Unfortunatly this is all I know about Irvine right now
but I should have more information when I get my hands on the game.

18 Although Quistis is only 18 years old, she is an instructor at Balamb Garden. She tutors Squall and the rest of his squad, and
she may have taught Seifer too. She is a prodigy at fighing and fighting skills. She entered Garden at the age of 10, by the time she was
15 she was in SeeD, and now she is an instuctor. She is with you at most times, but I dont know if you play as her that much. Quistis is
very calm and cool at all times, and she is there to keep Zell cooled down. | 5'7'' |
